If you are anywhere near Dargaville, there is a group there who will make appointments for school visits and set up telescopes at a convenient location. In the future they hope to have a fixed observatory.
Alternatively, for places to visit, you can contact any of the (RASNZ) Regional Astronomical Societies
via the list on the RASNZ website: here.
Many of these operate one or more observatories (most are included in the map above) and have open nights and special programmes for the general public. They may also be willing to organise a special visit for your group.
